7.8m Log Crane With 12ton Trailer

The base of our 7.8m log crane is made from 42CrMo steel.

A material with a decisive advantage: 42CrMo is a recognised medium-carbon quenched and tempered high-strength steel, commonly used in the manufacture of gears and shafts subjected to heavy loads. By utilising this material for the base, we achieve a decisive advantage over standard structural steels (such as Q345) in terms of tensile strength and yield strength.

Integrally cast to eliminate 'dead welds': The monolithic cast structure completely eliminates the most hazardous welds at the junction between the base and the load-bearing arm. During the high-frequency, high-torque reciprocating operations of a log grapple, welded joints are the starting point for stress fatigue; we have eliminated this risk at its very source.

A qualitative leap in fatigue life: Thanks to the excellent toughness of 42CrMo combined with its seamless structure, the base of the 7.8m timber crane is better able to absorb the impact loads generated during gripping and rotation.
